Coronavirus caution cancels upcoming shows at The Vista

The Drifters still tentatively planned

Posted

Out of an abundance of caution in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus, and in accordance with public health officials recommendations, The Vista Center for the Arts, at 15660 N. Parkview Place, Surprise, will be postponing upcoming performances for Pink Floyd tribute “Shine on Floyd” (March 20), The Count Basie Orchestra (April 7), and Jim Breuer (April 24).

New dates will be announced shortly.

As of March 17 The Drifters (April 11) have not been canceled or postponed.

“The well-being of our patrons, volunteers, staff and artists is our primary focus right now,” The Vista director of community education John Williams stated in a news release. “The Vista, Center for the Arts operates independent of the Dysart Unified School District, without any taxpayer dollars. Ticket sales are our sole source of operational revenue at The Vista, and we expect to take a significant financial hit as a result. If you are unable to attend the date to be announced for our reschedule, we ask that you strongly consider a credit for a future performance, or donate your tickets back in support of The Vista.”

The focus at the Center for Disease Control is on slowing the transmission of COVID-19, and the CDC is asking citizens to create social distancing.

“At this time, we feel compelled to act decisively and out of an abundance of caution, to do our part in quelling this pandemic before it can take hold in our community,” the statement continued.
