Connors: It’s time to unleash your ‘Soul Power’

Posted

Back in the ’90s, I took a course called “You & Money.”

The presenter, Dr. Maria Nemeth, created it as a result of losing big in a “get rich quick scheme.”

The course wasn’t really about money, though. It excavated our relationship with all of life and how we use or don’t use our infinite creative energy.

I’ve heard many people say, “I couldn’t do ‘that.’ I’m just not creative.” It usually refers to something the person hasn’t tried or is afraid to try. Have you ever told yourself something like that?

I yearned to play a musical instrument and put off trying for years because I told myself I couldn’t. How did I know? How could I know without trying? I finally let go of that inhibiting fear and, to my joy, found I actually could learn and play the clarinet.

If you looked closely at your repeating thoughts and how you use your time, what do you focus on? Do you focus on investing your time and creative thought energy on what you value, on your hopes and dreams and in what has meaning for you? Is “not enough” (time, energy, creativity, money) lodged in your thinking?

What if your relationship with money is the stage on which your faith in God, life, yourself and others is played out. What words would you use to describe those relationships? Honestly answering that question peeks into the contents of your soul and its journey.

You are a hero/heroine on a hero’s journey. The destination is the maximization of your spiritual potential. Money and your relationship with it is a required course. It describes your relationship with all of life.

What words would you use to describe the kind of relationship you would like with money? Here are a few I’ve chosen: appreciative, grateful, respectful.

Hallelujah for your soul power!
