College students from Surprise earn academic honors

College students from Surprise earn academic honors

Mark Hudson of Surprise graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Main campus in Davenport, Iowa on Feb. 26. Palmer College of Chiropractic, the first and largest college in the chiropractic profession, has campuses in Davenport, Iowa; San Jose, California; and Port Orange, Florida.

Hudson also was named to the fall 2020 trimester Dean’s List at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Jaelynn Elgert of Surprise is among the nearly 1,400 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the fall 2020 semester at The Citadel, which offers a classic military college with its campus in Charleston, South Carolina.

Elgert is a 2020 graduate of Liberty HIgh School in Peoria and also plays volleyball at The Citadel.

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has named 420 students to its fall 2020 Dean’s List, among those was Jayson A. Hayes, a first-year nursing student from Surprise. Dean’s List status is awarded to students who have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Mr. Hayes is a 2020 graduate of Willow Canyon High School. He plays on the university’s baseball team.
