Donations going to St. Mary’s Food Bank for holidays

Non-perishable food donations are being collected at all eight Christopher Todd Communities Home Leasing Centers in the West Valley — including three in Surprise — until Thursday, Jan. 7.

All donations will support St. Mary’s Food Bank, which reports that the most-needed items include: peanut butter; canned protein such as chicken, tuna or spam; canned ravioli; canned fruits packed in 100% fruit juice or no sugar added; dry or canned low sodium beans; whole wheat or whole grain boxed cereal.

“This year, more than ever, the need is extraordinary and we have enlisted the help of our residents and community at large to join us in providing what they can to those who are hungry,” said Todd Wood, CEO of Christopher Todd Communities.

The local dropoff locations include: Christopher Todd Communities On Greenway, 15267 N. 140th Drive;  Christopher Todd Communities At Marley Park, 15025 W. Old Oak Lane; and Christopher Todd Communities At Mountain View, 14155 W. Mountain View Blvd.

St. Mary’s Food Bank has been feeding the hungry for more than 50 years and is the nation’s very first food bank. Last year more than 97 million pounds of food was distributed via their network.

Currently, one-in-four children, one-in-five adults, and one-in-seven seniors within Arizona live in poverty.

The leasing offices will be collecting food donations only. Monetary donations can be made directly to the St. Mary’s Food Bank via FirstFoodBank.org.

Christopher Todd Communities is a Mesa-based developer and brand asset maximizer in the Build To Rent real estate niche, creating  innovative single-family smart home rental communities that are a hybrid between traditional single-family and apartment homes.

The smart-gated communities come with resort-style amenities and robust technology.
