Young Ambassadors continue their energetic tradition of song and dance in their new show — “Thank you for the Music, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in The Vista Center for the Arts, .

The group is filled with members who will share their talents and experience through the show. The world-traveled troupe shares decades of the best in entertainment with music by recording artists Ed Sheeran, Billy Joel, Judy Garland, the Beach Boys, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley and Frank Sinatra.

Since 2000, Young Ambassadors performed at the 2002 Winter Olympics, throughout the U.S., and for heads of state in Britain, Egypt, India, Japan, Jordan and the United States. Prominent past members include former Miss America Sharlene Wells Hawkes, Diamond Rio’s Dan Truman and Broadway favorites Christeena Michelle Riggs and Candese Marchese.

The group recently traveled to China this past summer to share their message and show. This year, they will take their show to cities in California, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and Japan.

Young Ambassadors represents the School of Music in cooperation with the Department of Dance from the College of Fine Arts and Communications at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. BYU is one of America’s largest private universities with more than 30,000 students.

In addition to the show, West Valley students have an opportunity to connect with the Young Ambassadors by attending a vocal workshop, dance and musical theater training. Participants will have an opportunity to meet with the artists, ask questions, and learn from collegiate performers.

This is a participatory workshop, where participants will not only listen and learn, but will be able to put the lessons to practice and perform alongside these artists. The workshop will occur the day of the show, and those that attend will also receive a ticket to the evening performance.
