Budget season begins in Surprise
Fiscal year 2024 budget now in progress
Posted
By city of Surprise
The city of Surprise kicked off its fiscal year 2024 budget building process Jan. 17 and has plans for its next presentation Tuesday, Feb. 21.
This budget kickoff at the last Council work session was the first in a series of presentations the city’s Finance Department will make regarding the overall development of the budget and the upcoming annual process.
Future Council work sessions and regular meetings will include presentations related to operating revenues and expenses and department operating budget development.
The recommended budget is scheduled for release in April, followed by Council and public review that will result in the adoption of a balanced FY2024 budget in June.
FY2024 begins July 1.
Council agendas are posted at surpriseaz.gov/agendas at least two business days before the meeting.
City Council meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Work Sessions typically begin at 4 p.m. and Regular Meetings at 6 p.m.
All meetings are carried live on Surprise TV for cable customers and streamed at surpriseaz.gov/surpriseTV.
Additionally, each of the staff budget presentations will be linked at surpriseaz.gov/budget the day following the talks.
