Benevilla announced its first ever drive-thru Community Shred-a-Thon Fundraiser will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Feb. 20 (or until the shredding truck reaches capacity) at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church parking lot, 13724 W Meeker Blvd., Sun City West.

AARP will provide the shredding truck. Participants can securely dispose of old documents such as old bank and credit card statements, billing statements, receipts, tax records and documentation (after seven years), medical records, credit card receipts and paycheck stubs.

A minimum $4 donation is required per banker sized box of documents to be shredded. All participants should remain in their vehicle to safely drop off documents to be shredded curbside.

Social distancing and COVID-19 preventative procedures will be in place.

“Benevilla is excited to offer this Drive Thru Shred-a-Thon to our community and be able to fundraise for our much-needed services,” says Sara Villanueva, Benevilla vice president of donor relations. “Every day we are reminded how important our programs and services are to our community, especially during this unprecedented time of COVID-19 and we couldn’t do it without your support!”
