Adult rec registration now open in Surprise

City offering softball, volleyball, basketball, flag football

The Surprise Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for adult softball, volleyball, basketball and flag football leagues with open registration.

Returning teams from the spring Adult Sports leagues may register at surpriseaz.gov/SurpriseRec, or call between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 623-222-2000.

Starting May 14, registration will open to non-returning and new teams. Teams may register over the phone, online or at the Parks and Recreation office, 15960 N. Bullard Ave.

Teams must register together. A minimum number of players is listed on the registration page.

Co-ed, Women’s, Men’s and Senior Softball

  • Games played at Dick McComb Park, 17894 W. Park Blvd.
  • Team registration Fee: $500 (seniors $450).
  • League nights: Men’s Tuesdays and Thursdays; Senior’s Wednesdays; Women’s Thursdays; Co-ed Fridays and Sundays.
  • Leagues begin: July 8 through 13.
  • League format: Doubleheaders and a single-elimination tournament and single games and a single-elimination tournament.
  • Team limit: Eight teams per division.

Basketball

  • Games played at Villanueva Recreation Center, 15660 N. Hollyhock St.
  • Team registration fee: $550.
  • League night: Tuesdays.
  • Season begins: July 1.
  • League format: One game per week and a single-elimination tournament.
  • Team limit: Eight teams per league night.

Co-ed and Women’s Indoor Volleyball

  • Games played at OUAZ Faith Arena, 14440 W. Tierra Buena Lane or Villanueva Recreation Center, 15660 N. Hollyhock St.
  • Team registration fee: $250.
  • League night: Women’s Thursdays; Co-Ed Sundays.
  • Season begins: July 10 and 13.
  • League format: One match per night (best two of three games) and a single elimination tournament.
  • Team limit: Eight teams per division.

4-on-4 Flag Football

  • Games played at OUAZ Spirit Field, 14440 W. Tierra Buena Lane.
  • Team registration fee: $400.
  • League night: Sundays.
  • Season begins: July 13.
  • League format: Doubleheaders and a double-elimination tournament.
  • Team limit: Eight teams.
