The Sun City Women’s Chorus will present their spring concert “Showtime” 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at the Sundial Recreation Center Auditorium, 14801 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City.

The Sun City Women’s Chorus was chartered nearly 60 years ago and originally performed jointly with the Sun City Male Chorus. The Women’s Chorus is open to women with a current RCSC card who love to sing four-part harmony and can read music.

Rehearsals are 8:45-11 a.m. Thursdays at Fairway Recreation Center, 10600 W. Peoria Ave. The Chorus is under the direction of Jane Higgs, with Kent Trostel as accompanist.

Ms. Higgs retired from her teaching career before coming to Sun City in 1999. She has been involved in the Sun City Concert Band and the Sun City Chamber Orchestra playing alto saxophone and as a featured vocal soloist.

Mr. Trostel has many musical accomplishments both locally and abroad. He served as the accompanist for the Grand Canyon Men’s Chorale, the West Valley Chorale and is currently celebrating his 20th season as accompanist with the Arizona Masterworks Chorale. In addition, he composes and arranges music.
