The Westernaires Chorus will perform its concert “An American Journey” 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Monday, April 3, 4 and 6; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5 in the Stardust Theatre, 14401 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West.

Along with 80 vocalists and instrumentalists, the upcoming concert will also feature an orchestra. The combo includes Cynda Burns on flute, Bill Burns on guitar and trumpet, director Sylvia Collins, accompanists Connie Hodges and Judy Moreland, Steve Kehler on harmonica, guitar and mandolin, and Tom Boyer on guitar.

Mr. Boyer is a 2014 International Western Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year award winner.  With his Chet Atkins-style of playing, he has professionally performed western, country, jazz and other musical genres for many years with prominent musicians and bands throughout the western U.S.

The concert will also feature a tap dance group who will join the Tenor & Bass section during “MaMa Don’t Allow.”

The Westernaires Chorus is composed of 90 mixed voices: sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. The Westernaires is one of the oldest Charter Clubs in Sun City West, since 1980.
