Peoria resident Ed McKelvey took up mountain biking after he was introduced to it by his brother-in-law when he and his wife moved to the north Valley about five years ago.
Since then he’s really taken to it, riding up to three times a week mainly on trails in the north Valley, such as the White Tanks, Maricopa Trail, Vistancia, Lake Pleasant, Pyramid Peak, Sunrise Mountain, New River Valley and Cave Creek.
As he became more interested in his hobby, he has joined up with a few riding groups around town, mainly riding with the 4B’s — biking, body, bible and brews — which ride every Tuesday night and have a meet up after.
