Yoga club hosts meeting, anniversary celebration
Posted
The Sun City West Yoga Club held its general membership meeting and holiday luncheon Dec. 4 at the Palm Ridge Recreation Center.
The highlight of the day was the celebration of yoga instructor Renée Pruitt’s 20th anniversary with the club. Pruitt touches her students’ lives with her yoga expertise and quiet wisdom. Many of her students were in attendance, three of whom have been with Pruitt since the beginning.
Club business transacted at the meeting included the election of a new board for 2023: Teri Huff, President; Marcia Kraft, Vice President; Sue Colvin, Treasurer; Mella Harmon, Secretary; and Sherry Gustafson, Member-at-Large. The members thanked the outgoing board for two years of steadfast service before, during, and after the pandemic.
The Yoga Club starts the new year on sound financial footing, with more than 550 members, eight instructors and a schedule of 23 classes throughout the week. The next general membership meeting and luncheon will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Palm Ridge Recreation Center, Summit Hall A.
