The Sun City West Witches Ride and Parade will take flight up and down the streets of Sun City West Oct. 24, featuring witches in costumes driving decorated bicycles and golf cars.
This year’s charity drive will again benefit Benevilla, a nonprofit community service organization serving the West Valley’s older adults with disabilities and family members who care for them. Donations are not required to register in the witches ride; however, one must be registered to participate in the ride/parade. Visit benevilla.org//scwwitchesride to register.
The parade will begin and end at Beardsley Park. A copy of the actual route map can be found on the registration website. Sun City West residents are encouraged to line the sidewalks of the parade route and cheer on the witches. All alcoholic beverages are to be brought to the park and are not to be shared along the parade route.
Those attending can bring their coolers and chairs in the park before the ride begins. Only a limited number of chairs will be available.
The event will also include the Witches Dance and prize drawings for those who have registered donated online (for every $20 donation, a name will be placed in the drawings). Entertainment will be provided by Still Above Ground and there will be three food trucks. Cory McCloskey, from channel 10, will film and televise the witchy festivities.
