Will Sun City West lose out on popular bands when Lizard Acres Pub remodels?

Posted

Recreation Centers of Sun City West is scheduled to close Lizard Acres Pub for remodeling. Tentative start date is May 1 with a tentative completion date of June 30, according to RCSCW’s website.

Part of the remodel is to move the entertainment stage, and make it smaller. It has been rumored that the Lizard will be looking for smaller groups to entertain our residents.

Larger bands like 303 West, Still Above Ground and Senior Moments will be too big to fit into the new stage area, which is unfortunate, as it is these bands that produce the music residents want to hear and dance to.

Residents also purchase drinks. These bands keep people in the pub the entire time, enjoying themselves, and keep the people working the bar area busy all night. Bar sales are always higher when these groups play.

If you like the music of these bands, perhaps a word to the RCSCW would change their minds to keep larger bands producing really good music at Lizard Acres Pub.

The bands love playing at Lizard, and clearly the residents like hearing them.
