Westernaires Chorus prepping for April concerts

The Westernaires Chorus of Sun City West, directed by Sylvia Collins, is a chorus of 80 vocalists in final rehearsals for “An American Journey,” which will have shows 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Mondays, April 3, 4 and 6; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5 in the Stardust Theatre/Kuentz Center, 14401 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West.

Gale Leach, the chorus instrumentalist, will be featured playing a hammered dulcimer with the chorus during the song “The Journey,” a combination of an American “Shaker” hymm, “Simple Gifts,” and “Going Home.”  Ms. Leach will also perform a special comedy skit in the second half of the concert. Tickets are reserved and available at the R.H. Johnson Center Box Office, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and online at suncitywest.com/StardustTheatre/tickets.

Tickets are $12 in advance $15 at the door.
