The new concert series, “Sundays With Dan,” will continue at the Copper Penny, 10765 W. Peoria Ave., 2-4 p.m. Aug. 15. This month’s featured artist is Western Music Hall of Fame inductee Joni Harms.

The Sunday afternoon music series is a brainstorm of local musician Dan McCorison. His concerts have garnered packed houses each month since his CD release party in April.

Harms has enjoyed many years of successful touring with chart-topping hits such as “God Bless the Farmer” and “Let’s Put the Western Back in the Country.” She writes and sings about the Western way of life – a life she has personally experienced. She lives on a ranch in Oregon that was homesteaded by her great-great-grandfather in 1872. Over the past two decades, her fan base has spread across the country and overseas as well. 

Harms signed a major record deal with Nashville producer Jimmy Bowen of Capitol Records in the early 1990s. She was later signed to the Warner Western label. Her award-winning album “Cowgirl Dreams” was accepted by DJs across the country and earned favorable reviews in People Magazine, Billboard Magazine, USA Today and other prominent publications.

Throughout her music career, Harms has recorded 14 CDs and won numerous awards from the International Western Music Association and Academy of Western Artists. She has performed on such prominent stages as the Ralph Emery Show and Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, as well as Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The public is invited to spend a Sunday afternoon listening to authentic Western/Americana music with Joni Harms and Dan McCorison. A suggested donation of $5 at the door will be appreciated.
