Webster: Bicyclists endangered by pedestrians

Posted

Thank you, Kirk Hardy, for your letter (“Pedestrians should watch for bicycles,” Sun City West Independent, April 26, 2023) about pedestrians and bicyclists.

Your statements about how pedestrians walking in the streets endanger bicyclists are valid. Bicyclists have to watch out for cars and golf cars, but should not have to be concerned about dodging people walking in the streets.

You mentioned that it is unlawful to walk there. It is indeed, so why would people do it, knowing it is unlawful? We have sidewalks for a reason; use them for everyone’s safety — please!
