Waddle finds the right reverse mortgage

Posted

Name: Wes Waddle.

Age: 65.

Business name: Sonoran Lending, LLC.

Personal background highlights: I grew up in Marion, Ohio, the hometown of President Warren G Harding, until I graduated from high school. Then I moved to northwest Indiana for 24 years. I lived in New Jersey and Delaware for four years before moving to Arizona in 2005. I am a real estate instructor and a certified flight instructor. I am also an author and a speaker. My first book, “Overqualified/Underqualified,” discusses the value of education and life as it is experienced. My second book is “The 3 D-I-M-E-S Theory,” which discusses desires, inspiration, motivation, enthusiasm and success.

Professional background highlights: I have been in the mortgage industry for 30 years. I have worked with reverse mortgages for about eight years. I handle all types of mortgages but primarily reverse mortgage opportunities in Sun City and surrounding areas. I live in Sun City; therefore, I can meet personally and answer questions to decide if this is a good opportunity for your future. I grew up poor. I like to know that I have helped people, so they do not need to struggle with money during retirement. Through knowledge, I hold the highest designation in the reverse mortgage industry as a certified reverse mortgage professional. Through understanding, I was a widower years ago, and I have also lived in Sun City for nine years.

Why did you locate your business here: I enjoy hearing the stories about life and how we all ended up in Sun City. I saw a need to help my friends and neighbors, so they did not need to struggle with money. My wife grew up in Phoenix.  I brought her out to Sun City, and she liked what she saw.  We have family and friends here in the area.

What community causes do you support and why: My company and I support the Sun City Posse. I also support the Civil Air Patrol where I have been involved for 34 years as a pilot. I have been a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary.

My family: My wife is an algebra teacher at Verrado High School. Together, we have three children and six grandchildren. We have two “Schnoodle” dogs.

What was the biggest influence in your life: I studied the biographies of great men. I have been influenced by men and women from various backgrounds.

What advice would you have for new business owners: Be of help to your community. Know your business. Be honest.
