The Recreation Centers of Sun City West continues its series of online summer concerts with jazz combo SwingTime presenting a show Tuesday, July 14.
“For the safety of our community we will not be having our summer indoor concerts, however, we are going to be streaming our events online,” RCSCW stated in a news release. “You will be able to see them perform for a full week from the convenience of your home.”
The concerts will be streamed online at suncitywest.com. For additional information and to see the schedule of artists for this summer, click on “buy event tickets.”
SwingTime features Richard Palalay (keyboard), Ellie Chaffee (vocals), Clark Chaffee (drums and vocals) and Dan Reed (trumpet), and plays jazzy standards from the Great American Songbook, as well as tunes from the Big Band era and beyond. The quartet features musicians who are frequent entertainers at Sun City West venues.
The SwingTime show will be available for streaming July 14-20 for a cost of $5.
Residents can watch shows beginning on the date they are scheduled, and will be able to log in and watch from a computer or smart TV or even phone. These showings will work only on one device per transactions, so it is not a program that can be shared with multiple devices.
All shows will be available to view for one full week.
Steve Stockmar has been with the Independent Newsmedia team since 2017. An NAU alum and Peoria resident, Steve’s community journalism pursuits focus mostly on arts & culture, education, and profiles of neighbors making a difference. In his spare time Steve plays in a vintage baseball league using uniforms and rules from the 1860s, and also acts (badly) in community theater. In addition, he has an unhealthy obsession with baseball and the Chicago Cubs.
