The Palo Verde Patchers recently recognized several veterans by donating Honor Quilts. Four United States Army veterans received the quilts at this last presentation of the season. Jack Coyle served in Korea at the DMZ for four years. Donald Watkins, Ron Ripley and Paul Segert served during the Vietnam War for varying lengths of time in a variety of capacities. Dennis Fossey of the local VFW made the nominations. Those wanting to submit the name of a combat veteran to receive a quilt made entirely by club members can visit patchers.scwclubs.com, under Quilts for Causes tab, or drop by the PVP club room at the Kuentz Recreation Center. The next presentation will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15. The presentations are open to residents and non-residents.
