Though the weather was a bit cool and breezy, there was great food and music and a parking lot full of a variety of handmade crafted items for sale at the Spring Craft Fair at the Sundome Plaza on Friday, March 14.
If you did not come out for the craft fair, you missed a great opportunity to enjoy the activities and purchase that perfect handcrafted item for yourself or your loved one.
I would like to publicly thank the merchants at the Sundome Plaza for their ongoing support and sponsorship of the local artists and crafters in the Sun City West community.
They have provided an opportunity for many of those living in the community to display and sell their handmade crafted items. They have committed to opening up their parking lot, providing space and advertising and organized a great craft fair to be held twice each year.
This most recent was the seventh such event, and each time we see more local support. Icon Golf Cars supported the event by shuttling vendors to and from their cars. Interiors by Thomas have been a constant supporter as well.
It is encouraging that there are those who value the small town community approach and are willing to show that support by offering a venue to many who also value that same concept. This is a sentiment I have heard from not only the participants of the event, but from many who show up to shop and show their support.
The Fall Craft Fair on Nov. 7 promises to be even larger and better. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sundome Plaza, just in time for that special shopping before Christmas!
