The Sun City West Tennis Club held its second Team Tennis event of the year March 8 at the R.H. Johnson Tennis Complex. This club competition is held three times throughout the year. The last of the three, will be in November.

Club members sign up to play in their respective ratings categories. Women and men compete in doubles play. There are four teams with each one having a captain. Captains draw names to determine the players on their team. The teams are based on the colors red, white, green and blue. Players wear their respective team color clothing for the event.

The team captains for this event were Ginny Althoff (White Team), Klaus Sanders (Red Team), Joel Piaskowski (Green Team) and Frank Mervyn (Blue Team).  After the event and the winner was announced, club members socialized with snacks, music and beverages.

The winning team was the Blue Team and Frank Mervyn, who will display the trophy “chicken” until the next Team Tennis event.
