Judy Griffin’s quilt, “Color My World,” was awarded the Sun City West Manager’s Award at the 2024 Palo Verde Patchers Quilt Show.

This particular pattern (by Wendy Williams of Australia) was offered in 2021 through the online “The Quilt Show.” The pattern requires use of the paper piecing method using a difficult circular process.

took Griffin about a year and a half to complete and includes her own changes such the Seattle Space Needle.

“It will eventually find a home in the family,” she said.

Griffin began quilting in the 1980s making baby quilts when all the grandchildren started coming.

“And now I’m making them for the greats!” she added.

Griffin joined both the PVP and the Calico Cutups (in El Mirage) in the 1990s. She enjoys sharing and teaching classes in both guilds.
