Sun City West Pickleball Club celebrates successful food drive

Posted

The Sun City West Pickleball Club exceeded its goals for the 2022 food drive benefiting St. Mary’s Food Bank of Surprise.

Club members donated $4,919 and 2,341 pounds of food. Club sponsor Dr. Santosh Saini of Saini Smiles Dentistry contributed another $3,205 for the Food Bank, bringing the 2022 total to $8,124.

St. Mary’s Food Bank provides seven meals for every dollar donated, meaning Sun City West Pickleball Club and Saini Smiles Dentistry helped provide more than 56,000 meals for people in need this Christmas season.

Club members Dennis and Kathy Russler once again led the annual drive. Sun City West Pickleball Club has annually donated thousands of dollars and tons of food to St. Mary’s Food Bank, the first food bank in the U.S.

The presentation was made during the annual club Christmas party, catered by Sharko’s, and organized by club social director Danielle Smith.
