Sun City West Patchers honor veterans

Honor Quilts are one of the community service projects supported by the Palo Verde Patchers Quilt Club of Sun City West. These patriotic quilts, presented to combat veterans, are stitched at the club’s workdays, held monthly for members to participate in the project.

A quilt provides a tangible reminder of appreciation and gratitude to combat veterans.

The Palo Verde Patchers Club recognizes these quilt recipients at special monthly presentations held September through May in its Kuentz club room. At these presentations, club members learn about the experiences of the veteran in his/her own words.

Occasionally, member present dog beds, which they also make, for veterans who have a “Soldier’s Best Friend.” For those special presentations the dogs are present with their “person.”
