The Model Railroad Club is closing operations of its outdoor G Scale layout at the Beardsley center during the summer, except for maintenance work. The park, however, is always open. The indoor N/HO scale trains will operate throughout the summer as members do required maintenance and remodeling of its carnival scene area. New items are being installed and a Z scale train has been added, which is about 1/3 the size of HO scale: 1:87 vs. 1:220. Those with an RCSCW card are welcome to join; women may also join the socially active Choo-Choo Chicks. Club hours are normally 9 a.m.-noon Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays at the R.H. Johnson center.
