Members of Sewing From the Heart, a special interest group within Rip ‘N’ Sew, are sewing their hearts out for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center.
These sewists recently donated two bibs, one vest, 14 drawstring bags, 20 burp clothes, 14 walker bags, 14 blankets, eight crocheted and knitted animals, 80 knitted hats and 19 accessories including head bands, mittens and scarves.
The medical center will distribute the items at their Arizona clinics.
Jan Chandler made walker bags, Betty Leperle knitted hats and Madeline Truett made head bands and mittens. These three are not Rip ‘N’ Sew members but donate items for Sewing From the Heart projects.
Sewing From the Heart meets 12:30-3:30 p.m. Fridays. Any Rip ‘N’ Sew member is welcome to join. Donations of quality flannel, cotton fabric, fleece, yarn and fusible interfacing are always accepted.
