Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More recently held an all-day weekend crop where members had plenty of space to spread out their crafting supplies as they worked on paper projects, cards and scrapbooks, attended workshops and had a lunch-time potluck.
A morning workshop was offered by member Kristi Bibbee, who taught members how to make a large folding book out of standard office file folders, which was then decorated with color coordinating patterned designer papers. The decorative folio features several pockets into which tags, photos and mementos may be tucked.
In the afternoon, members Judi Amoroso and Linda Stratton gave a presentation called “Stop! Don’t throw that out!” The two creative card makers displayed more than 100 handmade cards that incorporated recycled or salvaged materials and explained how they made each one-of-kind art cards.
Sample cards included designs with soda can embellishments, embossed tin foil backgrounds, textured tea bag and corrugated paper canvases, candy wrapper collages, background papers made with ink and shaving cream and more.
