The Sun City West Tennis and Pickleball clubs have joined forces with The HART Pantry (Helping At Risk Teens) to recycle sneakers, which in turn provides HART Pantry with funding. The pantry receives $1 for each pair of recycled shoes.
HART Pantry began in 2011 as a mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Peoria. HART provides weekend food bags to West Valley teens who don’t have enough food to eat when they are not in school on weekends. The effort is part of the Gotsneakers?, a nationwide sneaker recycling organization.
