The Easter bunny isn’t alone in preparing for the coming of spring. Every spring, a group of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More members gather to hand-craft palm-sized Easter totes for participants in the Sun City West Meals on Wheels program.
This year the members created origami-like paper totes, which were then decorated with pastel colored die cut flowers, butterflies and a paper bunny doll. The totes were filled with chocolate and tied with bright ribbon.
MOW coordinators Lu-Ann Grillo and Lynne Marion organized the philanthropic workshop. The hand-crafted goodies bring cheer to home-bound residents who, despite being unable to participate in local activities, know they’re not forgotten during special holidays throughout the year.
SPAM meets in the Beardsley center’s Agave Room on Wednesdays (4-9 p.m.), Thursdays (9 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (9 a.m.-5 p.m.).
