The Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More club creates cards for veterans through different military organizations, for residents in the local Meals on Wheels program and other clubs.
Donating their own supplies and time, members of SPAM create botanical-themed greeting cards for the Sun City West Garden Club, who then sell the cards during their plant sales. In turn, money made from the cards is added to the funds donated to any of the myriad local philanthropies sponsored by the SCW Garden Club.
SPAM’s coordinators responsible for organizing the Garden Club card donation program are Gwen Mickle and Terry Nicks.
SPAM meets in Beardsley Rec Center’s Agave Room on Wednesdays from 4 to 9 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call club President Chris Hecht at 602-999-9689.
