The Palo Verde Patchers held their general membership meeting Oct. 8 at the R.H. Johnson Social Hall. Board members present were, from left, Kathleen McCulloch, president; Merrikay Vidal, treasurer; Nancy Steely, vice president, programs; Lynnie Siefferman, vice president, classes; and Jann Weems, filling in for secretary Jan Berndt. The 2025 slate of officers was announced and will be voted on in November. A five hundred dollar check was also presented to Edison Brown of Native American Connections by Steely. Through the “Charity Quilt Program,” the Palo Verde Patchers have and continues to donate quilts to Native American Connections for babies, children and adults, providing warmth and comfort to the residents of 850 housing units across the Valley. Tote bags are also provided for shopping or moving to new locations.
