Sun City West club handcrafts Christmas cards for the military

Christmas came early at the Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More club, as members are busy hand-crafting Christmas and holiday cards for a philanthropic organization that collects Christmas gifts for military veterans living in the Valley.

This winter, Military Order of the Purple Heart will sponsor an Angel Giving Tree Tags program in Sun City’s Sun Dome Plaza. Members of the community are invited to purchase the gift specified on a tag and they will receive a handmade holiday card to include with each gift they purchase for a veteran.

SPAM’s goal is to make 500-plus cards by early fall before the program commences.

SPAM meets in Beardsley’s Agave Room on Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.). Call club president Lynne Marion at 440-666-6386 for more information.
