Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church is hosting a celebration of freedom and community Sunday, July 6, at 13658 W. Meeker Blvd.
The festivities begin during the 10 a.m. worship service with a performance of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” by the church’s Summer Choir, joined by a brass quartet.
Those who love to sing can rehearse with the choir at 9 a.m. and lend their voice to this musical tribute.
The celebration continues at 11:30 a.m. with a free concert by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Band in Fellowship Hall. This ensemble will perform a mix of patriotic favorites and classics.
The SHUMC Men’s Group will grill free hot dogs as well.
