Desert Garden United Church of Christ, 18818 N. 128th Ave., Sun City West, will serve as a collection site for bottled water for the Salvation Army’s annual summer drive.
The Salvation Army staffs numerous hydration stations throughout the West Valley at which water is distributed to walkers, homeless people and anyone who needs a cool drink. The Salvation Army also provides water to first responders including police, firefighters and medics for heat-related situations they might encounter.
The church is providing a safe way for community members to donate. Simply drive up and place the water on the cart provided in front of the office.
Water will be accepted 9-11 a.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Anyone preferring to give a monetary donation should write a check to Desert Garden UCC and specify water fund.
