Sun City octogenarian golf tourney draws 110

The annual men’s Octogenarian Golf Tournament was played March 13 and 17 at Quail Run Golf Course, 9774 W. Alabama Ave., with 110 golfers 80 and older competing.
This was the 43rd consecutive tourney, being the longest-running tournament anywhere.
John Davis was the scratch winner with a 68. Don Koss was the handicap winner and Ed Wisniewski was the 90-plus winner.
Tournament sponsors were Edward Jones, Bill Freeman; Liberty Buick, who offered two cars for hole-in-one prizes; and Sunshine Service. The Sun City Poms, pictured, including with Jerry Walczak, tournament director, helped by serving and entertaining.
