Sportsman’s Club slates meeting, other activities

Sportsman’s Club of Sun City West President Audrey Graff has announced that the club’s first meeting of the season will be Monday, Sept. 19, at the R. H. Johnson Recreation Center Social Hall.
At 12:30 p.m., members may meet with the various Activity leaders. There will be a short business meeting starting at 1 p.mm. followed by the guest speaker, David Wastart, who is the Trails Coordinator for the City of Peoria and will speak about “Peoria Trails.”
The Firebird Hiking season will continue through September with hikes most Thursdays leaving Sun City West at 6:30 a.m. to beat the heat.
The Easy Riders have a trip planned Sept. 15, 16 and 17 to Carr Canyon near Sierra Vista.
The Sun City West Masters Swimmers have coached workouts 7-8:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the R. H. Johnson pool.
This club continues to offer Sun City West men and women a multitude of other outdoor Arizona activities. These include ATV/UTV riders, Big Wheels (off road vehicles), Easy Riders, birding, fishing, GEOcaching, horseback riding, clay target shooting, hiking, darts, walking/jogging, shore fishing, and Masters Swimming.
Feel connected to Sun City West and Arizona and learn about area history, geology, geography, flora and fauna. These activities are also a way to help maintain body and brain’s health.
