The Sportsman’s Club of Sun City West’s monthly meeting is Monday, Nov. 21, at the R. H. Johnson Recreation Center Social Hall.

At 12:30 p.m., members can meet with the various activity leaders. There will then be a short business meeting starting at 1 p.m., followed by this month’s guest speaker, Terry Johnson, Coordinator of C.A.S.T. for Kids at Lake Pleasant. He will share stories about the 40 years he worked for the state of Arizona in programs for endangered species conservation with the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

The “snowbird” hiking season has started with weekly C hikes and every other week B hikes.

The walk/jog activity will resume this month. Most of the other activities will be gearing up soon.

The Sun City West Masters Swimmers have coached workouts 7-8:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the R. H. Johnson pool.

This club continues to offer men and women a multitude of other outdoor Arizona activities. These include ATV/UTV riders, Big Wheels (off road vehicles), Easy Riders, birding, fishing, GEOcaching, horseback riding, clay and target shooting, hiking, darts, walking/jogging, shore fishing and Masters Swimming.

Participate in these activities and learn about area history, geology, geography, flora and fauna. These activities are also a way to help maintain one’s body and brain’s health.
