Sellers: Consider state tax credit for holiday

Posted

The political campaigns are (mostly) over, but the annual campaign to attract tax credit donations is in full swing!

As veteran donors know, our schools need these contributions to cover wide gaps in school funding. Donated monies cover costs of school activities, such as tutoring, music and drama programs, field trips, and the like.

Nadaburg Unified School District, which includes two elementary schools and, new in 2020, a high school, has great need for support. Our students, more than 80% of whom qualify for free or reduced-cost lunches, have no control over whether extra-curricular activities are provided, but all who read this letter can exert some control by contributing to the Nadaburg USD between now and April 15, 2021.

Not only will you help needy children, you may be eligible for a state tax credit that will reduce your tax liability to the state of Arizona, dollar for dollar, up to $400 for joint filers and up to $200 for other filers.

Requests for donation forms and questions regarding the program can be directed to Ms. Kasia Salamon, tax credit coordinator, at 623.556.5880. Forms can be picked up in Sun City West at the Hole’n’ One restaurant, the R.H. Johnson Library and Lord of Life Lutheran Church, or printed from the district’s online site at nadabursd.org.

As a volunteer in Nadaburg district schools for nearly three decades and donor to its tax credit program since its inception, I invite you to join me in making our 2020 campaign the best ever! All dollars benefit the students!
