Seals: Murals have no place on side of homes

Posted

We are in complete agreement with Sandra Witt (“Do house murals violate the rules?” Sun City West Independent, March 17, 2021).

We have to drive past that graffiti every day. It has no place on the side of a house. My wife is an artist in her own right but she confines it to a canvas.

When we bought our home we didn’t think for a minute that we had to check the CC&Rs for something like this. It goes without saying that anyone buying a home here would expect uniformity in the homes, at least the outside yards and paint color. They are plenty of rules in the list, i.e. fences, planting, etc.

We would never have purchased our home if we thought for a minute someone would put graffiti on the outside walls of their house — inside no problem, their choice. Sadly it reminds us of some of the neighborhoods in Mexico or an island somewhere.

It does not belong on the side of a house in Sun City West.
