Rockhounds West members Joy Woodward and her husband Ed created an exhibit using their imagination to include a scenic Arizona landscape with rock and gem stones specimens along with doll house miniatures characters.
The exhibit is on display through June 25 at the R.H. Johnson’s Library main entrance display case.
Rockhounds suspend their real rock site collection trips during the summer but still have social events including breakfasts and pie and ice cream gatherings.
Join Rockhounds West members this fall on trips to future rock collection sites both near and far. Membership dues are $10 and there are no monitoring requirements.
Club meetings are 2:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the month from November through April, in the R.H. Johnson Lecture Hall. Meetings include a short business review, details of upcoming trips and events and feature a guest speaker. Speakers range from club members sharing their expertise, government land and mineral experts and museum curators.
