Recreation Center closure won’t stop crafting club

The Sun City West Scrapbooking, Papercrafts and More Club has taken matters into their own hands when it comes to supporting the community and continuing to socialize. While everyone must “shelter in place,” this club has found other ways to continue on.

The Card Making group has made many beautiful cards for some front-line heroes and delivered them to the local hospital. They also continue to support Meals on Wheels with special greeting cards that are delivered with meals. The ladies have created a card challenge to encourage each other that has them submitting homemade cards on a topic that changes each week. They are shared by email, the club website and Facebook. Their creativity just keeps on flowing.

The Digital Scrapbooking group has continued their club activities by way of Zoom virtual meetings. They set up weekly virtual online meetings where they can see each other and visit. They have digital lessons each week and the instructor is able to show them new and exciting techniques to enhance their scrapbook pages and answer any questions they may have.

Members appreciate being able to see each other and look forward to such gatherings until the recreation centers reopen. They will continue to socialize and support the community in whatever way they can.

Call Kathy Greene at 623-556-5713 for club information.
