Posted
The Auction and Raffle event is 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Glendale Christian Church, 9661 N. 59th Ave. Residents can meet and listen to readings by selected local authors. Entertainment, homemade baked goods and craft items will be for sale along with the “Let’s Eat” volunteer’s best cookbook. All proceeds go to support the program to provide free weekly recordings.
This organization records news, books and magazines for the visually impaired, qualifies subscribers and supplies them with a recording player. Recordings are mailed to subscribers for use and returned for new recordings. This service is free. The organization is more than 50 years old and is a 501c3 volunteer-run recording studio operation providing a weekly news magazine for blind and vision-impaired people. The line up includes news and interviews with local organizations that include resources and opportunities for our clients.
