Reader has questions about new school

Posted

Being a Sun City West property owner for over 20 years, I find it rather surprising that an over-55 community would have a K-12 school, private or public. This certainly is a concern in more ways than one.

  • The safety of the children, should they somehow leave the building unattended.
  • If they should dart out into traffic, obviously being an over-55 community the driving skills perhaps may be a tad slower and the student could get hurt. I was one of seven children with four brothers and boy they could move.
  • Is there an outdoor play area there? If not will that be part of their plans?
  • Will this affect our taxes?
  • Your article states the community is behind this and I will admit I don’t read everything that is getting voted on and approved. Do you know if there was a vote and when?
  • With this being done, having students K-12, will it allow the student(s) to move to Sun City West if they have a grandparent here?

I would love for my grandchildren to live nearby, but not in Sun City West.
