Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board Director Alan Schlemmer has resigned from the board, effective immediately.
Schlemmer is recovering from a traumatic bicycle accident in which he was severely injured. Due to the severity of his injuries that will require a lengthy recovery and rehabilitation period, he did not feel he could continue his service to the board.
The governing board directors will immediately begin the process of filling the director vacancy, as well as Schlemmer’s other roles – that of board vice president and Chartered Clubs Committee chairman.
“All pertinent Bylaws and Policies shall be followed. Updates will be provided as they are available,” said Board President Jack Leary. “Alan has been a valuable member of the board since his seating on (July 1, 2023). His insightful contributions, wisdom, and experience as a community manager have been invaluable to this board. The Governing Board thanks Alan for his dedicated service.”
