Properties Owners and Residents Association, 13815 W Camino Del Sol, is preparing to host the first in-person committee meeting 1:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

The Roads, Traffic and Safety committee will conduct a quarterly meeting. Attendance will be on a first come, first serve basis by reservation to comply with social distancing guidelines. According to Communications Director Cynthia Young reservations can be made by email or calling PORA 623-584-4288 by 1 p.m. Sept. 22. Individuals entering the PORA building will be required to wear face coverings.

PORA General Manager Tracy McGuire said PORA continues to receive questions and requests from the community about traffic issues in Sun City West on a daily basis.

Since the pandemic closures, the Roads, Traffic and Safety Committee has been busy following through with street sign issues, four-way stops, audio signals on stoplights and signage for blind residents in Sun City West, roads, committee Chairman John Quinn said.

According to Mr. Quinn, motorist issues, such as speeding, traffic enforcement and right-turn lanes, will be topics at the upcoming meeting. Updates from various county and state agencies, including Arizona Fire & Medical Authority, Maricopa County Sheriffs Office, Sun City West Posse, Sun City West PRIDES and Sun City West cyclists will be provided.

“This in-person meeting will be a good opportunity to touch base with the community and hear their thoughts and concerns,” Mr. Quinn said.
