Bingo players in Sun City West have the rare opportunity of playing the game on two nights just four days apart.

The Property Owners and Residents Association of Sun City West bingo program will move from Friday to Monday nights, beginning Monday, Jan. 6.

Ralph Johnson, PORA board president, said he was advised by Jim Sloan, Recreation Centers of Sun City West governing board president, that changes needed to be made for space allocation to accommodate some of the growing clubs in the community.

Mr. Sloan said earlier the social hall would be available on Friday evenings for the Sun City West Boomers Club, which has more than 1,500 members.

“I want to emphasize RCSCW did everything they could to accommodate us by moving other clubs so PORA could have the room on a consistent basis,” Mr. Johnson said.
He added Rachel Milchin, who became Bingo manager for PORA in early May has not heard attendees express any negative reaction to the new night.

PORA shares profit from the bingo games with local non-profit organizations.

Mr. Johnson said PORA would issue checks to local groups at its next public meeting, 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at the PORA administrative building, 13815 Camino del Sol.
