Patchers groups provide array of options

Posted

The Palo Verde Patchers have 12 Special Interest Groups that provide members the opportunity to try out new techniques and ideas in a small group setting. Traditional quilting, modern quilting, art quilting, machine embroidery, appliqué, Accuquilt, miniatures and handwork and just a few of the groups offered by the Patchers. In addition to these groups, classes and demonstrations are offered on a variety of quilting techniques every month.

Special Interest Groups can also assist other groups in the production of quilts for presentations. For example, the Accucutter SIG, led by Jan Burnt, cut all the pieces used in a quilt that was given to a deserving veteran at a recent Honor Quilt presentation.

The Palo Verde Patchers club rooms at the Kuentz center are open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday (until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday) and 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Announcement/show and tell meetings are 10 a.m. Tuesdays. Visitors are welcome at all meetings. General meetings at the R.H. Johnson Social Hall will resume this fall.
