Northwest Valley Connect officials are in search of residents who can help seniors in the community get to where they need to go.
NVC officials needs volunteers four hours per week to help put together the transportation puzzle for others in the Northwest Valley who cannot drive. A gift of four hours per week makes volunteers the friendly voice that help others schedule rides to dialysis and other medical appointments and to shopping.
The new NVC phone system allows volunteers to work either at the agency office or from home.
Call Gail Christianer at 623-282-9300 for more Information.
Northwest Valley Connect, a local nonprofit 501(C)(3), provides rides to seniors, persons with disabilities and veterans without transport of their own. Last year NVC provided more than 10,000 rides and are on track to 15,000 this year. The agency always needs volunteer drivers as well as the ride facilitator role discussed above.
Volunteer drivers can drive their own car or drive one of NVC’s wheelchair-assist vehicles. Volunteers can tailor their driving support to specific people and/or specific times that work best for them.
