North County Fire & Medical District seeking board candidates

December meeting dates changing

The governing board of the North County Fire & Medical District will be accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the board until 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Applications should be turned into the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority Office, 18818 N. Spanish Garden Drive.

The vacancy occurred due to the death of board member Dick Cherry, and the term expires in Dec. 2020. The selected person may run for a full term following fulfillment of Mr. Cherry's term. Candidate interviews will be held Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the AFMA offices.

The board will vote on the replacement at their quarterly meeting, 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Auditorium, 205 W. Jefferson St, Phoenix.

Because of the holidays the NCFMD and AFMA have changed their meeting schedule for December from the fourth Tuesday to the third Tuesday.The NCFMD will conduct its meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, and AFMA will conduct its meeting at 11 a.m., the same day.
